Goosehead Insurance Lawsuit
In September 2018, Goosehead Insurance, Inc. Why I Quit Being an Insurance Agent?
I used to be an insurance agent. It was a job that I thought would be perfect for me. I am a people person and I like helping others, so I thought this would be the perfect career for me. Unfortunately, it wasn’t what I expected it to be.
Here are the main reasons why I quit being an insurance agent:
1) It’s a very high-pressure sales job. As an insurance agent, you are constantly under pressure to sell policies.
If you don’t meet your sales goals, you will likely get fired. This was a lot of pressure for me and it made the job very stressful.
2) You have to work long hours. Insurance agents often have to work long hours, including nights and weekends. This was not something I was willing to do on a regular basis. I wanted a job that had normal working hours so that I could have a life outside of work.
3) You need to make cold calls. One of the most important parts of being an insurance agent is making cold calls – calling people who haven’t expressed any interest in buying insurance from you. This was something that I didn’t feel comfortable doing and it made me very anxious.
